Coglioni

An icon of contemporaneity

In this confused period of value reversals, I have managed to capture a symbolic, static fulcrum — the extreme allegorical portrait of our times: the Coglioni (Italian for both "testicles" and "idiots/fools").

What we might define as the immortal icon of genetic succession and evolution remains, in this frozen era, a passive and immobile monument to the end of reason.

Wherever I turn my attention, I find broken coglioni, spinning coglioni, coglioni full of this and that — not to mention coglioni that fall, coglioni to be rinsed, and coglioni to be scratched.

Looking further afield, I find coglioni at the wheel, coglioni in government, coglioni who don't know how to do their job — and many other kinds of coglioni.

Such a phenomenon, mysteriously overlooked by the Fine Arts until now, deserves to be documented.
